A veteran to the MMO genre starting in '99 with Everquest and moved through several other MMO's including GW 1 & 2 as well as WoW. Most of my earlier experience with MMO's was more social as RL restricted availability for raiding and other large scale group events. Was able to experienced some raiding in EQ, though very limited due to work, and raided during late original WoW, early BC, and again towards the end of WotLK. Guilds Wars 2 time was mostly spent in WvWvW and PvP either solo or as part of an organized group until learning about FFXIV.

Started FFXIV near the release of HW and fell in love with the class system and overall PvE experience. Unfortunately RL still restricted availability forcing time spent during HW into PF for savage and extreme content. Towards the end of HW I Decided to take a hiatus from MMO's in general that lasted until the release of EW.

Returning for EW and with RL allowing a more fixed availability I sought out a casual to MC group to start clearing savage and extreme content. The goal to complete each of EW savage tiers and extreme raids. Managed to complete most of those goals by completing the first and third tier while clearing most of the 2nd tier. Sadly everything must come to and end.

Facing burn out after pushing through all of EW and catching up on missed content I had originally intended to skip Dawntrail. However, keeping in touch with some XIV friends and occasionally hanging out with them as they raided has re-ignited my desire for XIV raid content. I'm currently interested in moving towards a more sHC/MC mindset to clear Ultimates while waiting for Dawntrails 2nd tier of savage content.

  • Majority of XIV raiding experience has been in the off-tank role.
  • HW: During HW RL restricted playtime which relegated savage and extreme content to PF. Was able to clear A1-3s, A9s & A10s with a hiatus from XIV during the second tier.
  • EW: Cleared P1-7s, P9-12s, and all EW extremes. P1-4s went smoothly with a group relatively new to savage raiding. Unfortunately, the following tiers people within the static started to get burnt out. This resulted in finding replacements mid tier and sadly left us in re-prog purgatory several times during the 2nd and 3rd tiers.
  • Ultimates: UCoB, experienced up to Bahmut adds phase. However, strategies used for UCOB were not standard or normal PF strategies.
